Near the Back (open) « Thread Started on May 22, 2007, 5:10pm »
Nicole sat against the wall disengaged from the rest of the cafe. She had a vanilla mocha on the table that hadn't ben started. She usually waited quite a while before even daring to take a sip in fear of being burned.
She had found her usualy seat in the corner so she have her feet on the cushioned bench and her back against the wall. her jeans covered the top of her purple converse shoes, and a plain black v-neck with arms that were too lon covered her top half. The book "1984" sat propped open against her knees and held in place by her hand.
In her ear her head sets played "Heard it Through the Grape Vine," softly so that she could concentrate on her book rather than her music. Absently taking the lid off of her drink she stuck her pinky finger into it to check the temperature. Deciding it was too hot she slipped her finger into her mouth before sliding the lid back over the drink. it was a funny habit of hers that she did every time she had a hot drink.

Finn walked into the cafe dressed in jeans, black boots and a black off the shoulder sweater. Her hair was hanging loose and curly down her back.
She went up to the counter and order a chocolate brownie frappe, before she made her way over to a table, that was close to Nicole and sat down.
Finn pulled out a neon blue laptop, a textbook, several smaller books and a black Ipod. She put the headphones on, "American Idiot' starting up, as she opened the larger text book and started typing, every know and then looking at the book or opening one of the smaller ones, every once in a while taking a drink from her iced drink.

Nicole rolled her eyes and shut the book. There always seemed to be comeone you couldn't trust. someome you thought you could, but it turns out you couldn't. It left one with such little faith in the human existence. Winston was just another examle of the patheticprotaginst who falls into the hole of idealism.
Placing the book on the table she traded it for her drink and too a small ands low sip. Too hot. Usually she would have waited, but she was growing impatient, and eneded up burning her mouth several times.
she pulled the headphones from her ears uncermoniously and quickly turning it off she stuffed it in her knapsack that had been hidden under the seat.

Finn stretched before she took another sip of her coffee. She looked at the other people in the coffee shop. She smiled when she spotted a girl from school. She removed on of her ear pones, "Hi! You go to the Academy right?" she asked trying to make small conversation.
